WHO WE ARE
Road to Hire (R2H) is a nonprofit organization in the Charlotte metro area. It was founded in 2013 by Ric Elias, Red Ventures’ founder and chief executive officer.
WHAT WE DO
R2H helps young adults from underrepresented communities achieve sustainable and often high-earning careers in Charlotte and beyond through hands-on paid training, mentorship, scholarships, direct connections with major employers and local universities, and more. To date, R2H has supported over 1,800 young adults.
ROAD TO HIRE’S PROGRAM
Along with its partnerships, R2H has three programs in place to fulfill its mission:
College Prep Program: Exposes students to resources and opportunities to get them on paths to high-earning careers
post-graduation.College Success Program: Provides financial support, mentorship, programming and community to young adults throughout their college years.
There are two branches of this program:
R2H Scholars which supports local Charlotte students who completed R2H’s High School program
Golden Door Scholars, which supports undocumented students and DACA/TPS holders
Apprenticeships program: Trains young adults in tech and professional development skills. This program is a paid, full-time, 24-week training.
